Advanced emergency braking system will now be mandatory in cars
The central government has taken a key decision to prevent road accidents. From now on, 'Advanced Emergency Braking System' (AEBS) will be mandatory for all new passenger cars by 2032. This provision will be applicable to new vehicles from October 1, 2028, new models from 2030, and all vehicles by 2032. These safety standards will be available for commercial vehicles as early as 2027. The government will also introduce cutting-edge features like lane-keeping and drowsiness detection in a phased manner.
