India has expressed deep concern over the attempted drone attack near Mecca in Saudi Arabia. Mecca is a holy place for Muslims around the world and peace in West Asia should be established as soon as possible, said External Affairs Ministry spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal. He said that they condemn the attacks on Saudi Arabia. While Saudi officials revealed that the drone launched by Yemen's Houthis was shot down before it entered Mecca's airspace, the Houthis have clarified that they did not carry out the attack. India has also condemned the attacks on civilian infrastructure and cargo transport in the region.
