India-China relations have seen progress in the last two years. China, which had deployed troops heavily along the border after the 2020 Galwan clashes, has significantly reduced the deployment of military forces along the Line of Actual Control from 2025, the Indian Ministry of Defense has revealed. Increased political, diplomatic and military contacts, several talks, and Prime Minister Modi's participation in the Shanghai Cooperation Organization summit have contributed to the improvement in relations. Chinese President Xi Jinping called for the two countries to work together at the BRICS summit.
