Prime Minister Narendra Modi celebrated Diwali in the presence of security forces in the Bastar forest area of Chhattisgarh. On this occasion, he praised the sacrifices of the jawans and praised their crucial role in the internal security of the country. Quoting a World Bank report that about 50 crore people have come out of poverty in the last 12 years, the Prime Minister said that his government is committed to eradicating poverty. He said that we are working towards the empowerment of the poor through welfare schemes.
