High Court says divorce cannot be granted for minor disputes
The Telangana High Court has made it clear that minor quarrels and differences of opinion in marital life cannot be considered as mental cruelty. A bench of Justices K Laxman and K Sujan recently dismissed the divorce appeal filed by the husband alleging that his wife was harassing him. The court said that there was no proper evidence for the allegations and that the marriage cannot be dissolved on trivial grounds. The High Court gave a key verdict, upholding the lower court's verdict that although the couple had been living separately for 14 years, there were no serious differences between them.
