The Indian Railways has taken a key decision to provide employment opportunities to ex-servicemen and firemen. A new cooperation agreement has been signed with the Indian Army. As part of this agreement, the Railway Ministry has announced that more than 5,000 ex-servicemen will be immediately recruited as 'pointsmen' on a contractual basis. This decision has been taken to fill vacant posts in various railway zones across the country. A total of 14,788 posts have been reserved for ex-servicemen in the years 2024 and 2025.
