The central government is set to start using AI in the process of preparing and reviewing government tenders. The National e-Governance Division under the Ministry of Electronics and IT has invited bids for developing an 'AI-powered platform' to this end. This AI system is expected to reduce the time taken to prepare tenders by 70-80%, curb irregularities and increase transparency. It will act as an assistant to officials and not replace their jobs. The project is also planned to be used by all state governments.
