Rice prices have increased drastically in Telugu states
The prices of Nandyal and Kurnool Sona rice, which are popular in the Telugu states, have increased significantly in the last three months. 50 kg of Nandyal Sona has gone from Rs. 2,600 to Rs. 3,800, and Kurnool Sona from Rs. 2,400 to Rs. 3,500. It is noteworthy that the price of a bag has increased by Rs. 500 in the last 10 days. Traders said that the reason for this price increase is the decrease in rainfall due to the effect of El Nino and the decrease in paddy cultivation and the increase in demand for rice in the market. It is expected that the prices are likely to increase further in the coming days.
