Transgenders (third gender) voted in large numbers in the recently concluded assembly elections. According to a report released by the Election Commission, 91.28 percent transgenders exercised their right to vote in West Bengal and 91.81 percent in Puducherry. 60.49% voting was recorded in Tamil Nadu, 36.84% in Assam, and 57.04% in Kerala. About 27% of those registered in the third gender category voted in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections.
