Interest rates likely to rise...more burden on loans!
60% of economists expect the RBI to raise the repo rate by 25 basis points to 5.50% in the Monetary Policy Committee (MPC) meeting to be held from October 5 to 7. The pressure on the RBI is increasing due to factors such as retail inflation in the country reaching 4.82% in August, rising international crude oil prices and weakening rupee. If this decision is implemented, banks are likely to increase interest rates on home loans, car loans and personal loans during the festive season, resulting in an increase in the burden of EMIs.
