
Wife attempts suicide after gas supply fails
In Anantapur district's Guthi mandal, Thondapadu, a wife, Mahalakshmi, attempted suicide by consuming phenyl oil in anger over the non-delivery of a gas cylinder. She was upset that her husband, Harikrishna, had not brought a gas cylinder for three days and that the agency managers had not given it to her due to gas shortage. Her family members immediately rushed her to the Guthi Government Hospital, where doctors administered phenyl oil to save her life. Police said that the wife committed the act in anger.
