
Free travel for women in West Bengal from June 1
The recently-elected BJP government in West Bengal is preparing to implement welfare schemes. In a cabinet meeting held in Kolkata on Monday under the chairmanship of CM Suvendu Adhikari, it was decided to implement several schemes from June 1. Under the 'Annapurna' scheme, eligible women will be provided with a financial assistance of Rs 3,000 per month and free travel in government buses. The government has also announced that central schemes like PM Vishwakarma, PM Fasal Bima Yojana, and PM Sri Schools will be fully implemented. The CM made it clear that the current welfare schemes will not be cancelled.
