The Tamil Nadu Vetri Kalagam (TVK) government has presented its first budget. Finance Minister Dr. N. Maria Wilson presented the budget on Wednesday as part of the assembly session. It has allocated Rs. 23,353 crore for the health department, Rs. 1,372 crore for women's welfare schemes, and Rs. 2,000 crore for laptops for students. It also announced the establishment of 10 Olympic Centers of Excellence, Kamarajar Breakfast Scheme, and a government law college in Madurai. The first budget has been prepared with priority given to women, education, health, and sports.
