Indonesia bans social media for children under 16
Keeping the future of children in mind, the Indonesian government has implemented a new law banning children under the age of 16 from using social media. The government has ordered that those under the age of 16 should not open accounts on popular platforms such as YouTube, TikTok, Facebook, Instagram, Threads, X, Bigo Live, and Roblox. Indonesia is the first country in Southeast Asia to take such a strict decision. The government hopes that this law will contribute to the mental and physical development of children.
