99 percent of people are breathing polluted air!
A recent study has revealed that air pollution increases the risk of cancer. Researchers who examined 109 million cancer cases registered in 952 areas between 2000 and 2020 identified PM2.5 pollution as the main risk factor. It was found that if the level of PM2.5 in the air increased by 10 micrograms per cubic meter, the risk of cancer increased by 17.9 percent. The study indicated that PM2.5 is associated with cancers of the kidney, bladder, and lungs, as well as other organs. The researchers said that 99 percent of the world's population breathes pollution that exceeds WHO standards.
